“Everything was fresh, homemade and absolutely delicious. Kelen and the staff are warm and friendly, and the shop feels very cosy and is spotlessly clean. You can really tell how much care goes into everything they do.”

“I ordered a birthday cake and it was incredible. Super moist, rich and fresh, the perfect balance and not overly sweet. All my guests loved it. The owner was very organised and responsive. Will definitely order again.”

About the shop

A Brazilian bakery on Barking Road

The Brazilian Pastry is a proper padaria and coffee shop in the heart of Plaistow, bringing the flavours of home to E13. Everything is made fresh from scratch — the coxinhas and pão de queijo out of the fryer, the cakes and pastries from the oven, the coffee poured with care.

Run by Kelen and the team, it's a warm, cosy spot with tables on the pavement for a coffee in the sun, and a counter that draws Brazilian families and curious neighbours alike.

Questions we get asked

What are your opening hours?

We're open Monday to Saturday, 9:00 in the morning until 7:00 in the evening, and closed on Sundays. The banner near the top of this page shows live whether the shop is open right now.

Can I order a birthday or celebration cake?

Yes — celebration cakes are one of our specialities, made fresh to your brief. The quickest way is to message us on WhatsApp with the occasion, a rough size and your date, and we'll talk you through flavours and price. Give us a little notice where you can.

What is pão de queijo?

It's Brazil's famous cheese bread — small, golden, chewy rolls made with tapioca flour and cheese, and naturally gluten-free. They're baked fresh through the day and are one of the things regulars come back for.

Do you cater for parties and events?

We do. Our savoury range — coxinha, esfiha, kibe, cheese puffs and more — is made to order by the tray for parties and gatherings. Message us on WhatsApp with what you're planning and we'll sort platter sizes and prices.

Where are you, and is there seating?

You'll find us at 335A, 335 Barking Road, London E13 8EE, a short walk from Plaistow station. There are a few tables out front for a coffee and a bite in the sun, and everything is available to take away.
